Responsibility
In launching the brand we wanted to make sure that it was accessible to as many people as possible whilst causing the least harm to the planet.
The ‘least harm’ is because fashion is not sustainable, fashion thrives on newness and creativity and the current systems we work in aren’t sustainable, sustainability demands we consume less - Trixy Orin therefore does not claim to be a sustainable brand.
Instead we are focussed on being a responsible brand working towards a future where fashion can be sustainable.
The future needs to be regenerative - delivering an upward cycle of positive impact for people and planet. We are not there yet but we take our responsibility to people and planet very seriously and we want to be part of the positive change that will get us there.
As a start up brand there are some limits to what we can do but we currently:
- Give our customers as much transparency on our fabrics, suppliers and logistics with traceability across our supply chain as possible
- Clothes are made in sizes S to XXL in shapes that are designed in contemporary shapes for all body types and genders
- Minimise our delivery transportation impact across the UK
- Only use recyclable, biodegradable or compostable packaging
- Only use certified factories
- Only use certified recycled, lower impact or organic materials where possible
- Not using fur or leather in our products
- Design our clothes for longevity of wear
We are working towards:
- Circularity in the parts of our products that are not biodegradable
- Starting up a resale platform to increase the circularity of our products
- Expanding our size range
- Working with factories that use only renewable energy
- Sustainable or active transportation of our products
- Funding support of regenerative projects
We encourage our customers to use the correct care practices and resale platforms to extend the life of our clothes.
